Tom Moore, 2011 Western Section President
Tom Moore, is the new incoming President of the IAEI Western Section, and is proud to serve and be a member of the largest IAEI Section, membership of with over 4,300. He has been involved in the inspection industry since 1987 and electrical industry since his earliest memories. Tom’s father was an electrical contractor in the Akron Ohio area for many years and Tom spent his summers learning the trade and where he wired his first single family dwelling alone at the age of thirteen.
Tom is gratified to be a Building/Electrical Inspector for the City of Beachwood Ohio, and also serves in the capacity of Residential Building Official for the Village of Lakemore Ohio.
Tom is very active in IAEI where he has represented IAEI on NEC CMP 11 for the 2005-2011code cycles and previously CMP 5 for the 2002 Code Cycle. In addition to Western Section President, He is a member of the Ohio Chapter Board of Directors where he has served two terms as President and for the past 17 years as Western Section Representative and presently Chairman of the Chapter Code Clearing Committee. He serves as President and Membership Chairman of the Akron Division. Tom also was a member of the first item writing committee for the IAEI CEI Electrical Inspector Exam. He was one of two IAEI members appointed by the Governor of the State Ohio to the NEC Ad-Hoc Committee for successful adoption of the 2008 NEC. Since 1989 he has participated as one of the Ohio Chapter IAEI Instructors for State of Ohio mandatory Electrical Inspector certification courses.
Tom is a proud member of IBEW Local 306, where for the past 14 years has been fortunate to serve as NJATC Apprenticeship Instructor along with Journeyman Training Instructor.
Tom and his lovely friend, Lucy, enjoy traveling and seeing different sights, including IAEI Meetings, and at times may even be seen in a casino. He is the proud father of daughter Christy and son-in-law Jody. He is even more proud of his two granddaughters Ashley 20 and Kaylee 16. When not involved in the electrical industry Tom loves golfing, 4 wheeling on the trails, spending time with his family and Lucy’s family, mother Mary, son Ben and daughter Brandy.
